Hummingbird 1
Sumi-e Hummingbird
In two brushstrokes, guided by two breaths.
Symbolism of the hummingbird
It represents perseverance, agility, and the ability to remain in the moment.
Sumi-e
is a traditional Japanese art form where the essence is revealed with as few brushstrokes as possible.
Every brush movement is visible—and matters. Mistakes can’t be painted over.
Sumi-e is linked to Zen: the artwork arises in one fluid, mindful movement, supported by breathing.
It’s not about flawless precision, but about the energy of what you paint.
